Bradwell and Bradwell Abbey



Bradwell and Bradwell Abbey are both situated north west of Central Milton Keynes. Bradwell is a residential area and Bradwell Abbey is an industrial estate. Pictured below is The Chapel of St Mary, one of the few remaining buildings of the priory founded in 1154 in Bradwell Abbey.

A priory was founded at Bradwell Abbey in 1154. A niche was added to the outside of the church in to which was placed a statue of the Virgin Mary. A chapel was built around this statue in 1335 and this shrine was believed to have miraculous healing powe
