Broughton & Atterbury

Broughton lies to the east of Milton Keynes. It is one of the original villages and its name comes from "brotone" It was recorded in the Domesday Book.

The roads in the area have taken their names from the theme of local history and steam railways eg Bewdley Grove and Tanfield Avenue The Church of St Lawrence is Grade I listed and dates from the early 14th Century. The Old Rectory is a Grade II listed building. See our religion area It is in a tranquil setting with delightful old buildings surrounding the village church. It is ideally positioned for access to the M1 motorway at Junction 14. The city centre is just a few minutes away by car. Good public transport links and sustainable transport is encouraged by the provision of redways for either cycling or walking. Willen Lake is just a short walk away and for shopping the Kingston Centre is nearby providing a large supermarket, a petrol station and other retail units. There is also a family friendly Brewsters pub and restaurant with play area. The City Centre is just five minutes away by car Broughton Linear Park runs right through the area. There are also two farms, some small areas of woodland and open fields that are privately owned. There is a hotel, The Broughton which also has a Hungry Horse Restaurant with play area and a Private school in the grid square.
