Shenley Church End

The village lies on the south western side of Milton Keynes. It is a residential area and is home to historic buildings and the ruins of a motte and Bailey Castle. Pictured below is the 11th Century Church of St Mary.
Shenley Church End is the name of the original village, which is listed in the Doomsday Book as Senelai.The earth works of a fort can be found in Shenley Church End and the Church of St Mary dates back to the 11th Century.Close to the church are six almshouses, built in 1654 in memory of Thomas Strafford whose effigy can still be found in the church.
