Willen



Willen is a residential area situated in North East Milton Keynes with parkland and historical buildings, including the Peace Pagoda (pictured below). The area is also home to Willen Lake, one of the many balancing lakes in Milton Keynes (see pineham) which is popular for water sports.

Willen takes its name from the original village, which is Anglo-Saxon: wella meaning spring. Willen is home to the Peace Pagoda, one of only two in the UK and first in the western hemisphere. Buddhist monks, who have a temple nearby, built the pagoda.
