Dog Warden - MK Council, now offering a chipping service

The council took responsibility for stray dogs from the police on the 6th April this year and we have in place a 24/7 365 days per year stray dog collection service. We have seen a massive increase in the number of stray dogs collected by our dog wardens this is based on figures the police were able to give us prior to transfer, to date we have collected in excess of 75 dogs. The public are able to contact the council during the day on MK 252187 evenings and weekends on MK 226699. If we are unable to reunite the dogs with their owners straight away they are taken Forest lodge Kennels where they can be claimed by their owners, dogs which are not claimed within 7 days are offered for adoption. There is a fine payable on release of the owner’s dog currently £35 plus a daily boarding charge. We do not charge if the dog is returned back direct to its owner. We offer a microchipping service where we will carry out the chipping at the owners home for this we charge £15 per dog.
