A marvellous bunch who look after people who care for their families and in their own time after school are always giving to others.

Teresa always greets everyone with a warm welcome and a smile and is the epitome of service with a smile. P3 This charity helps people with social exclusion problems via weekly meetings on activities varying from art and craft to gardening and drama.

LEGALISATION OFFICE – FOREIGN AND COMMONWEALTH

The only public facing office for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in the UK and deals with customers from all over the world.

This campervan rental company offer a superb service, going out of their way to ensure customers have the best experience.

JESSICA MOULD (5)

Jessica tragically lost her twin brother Harry in March when his lung collapsed after an asthma attack. Jessica is coping amazingly well and is so courageous.

LUKE LOUIS (11)

Luke was born weighing only one pound six ounces with a ten per cent chance of living. He almost lost his sight, but has now overcome most of his disabilities.

SINEAD BULL (8)

Sinead only recently discovered she has no bonemarrow and is currently undergoing blood transfusions and had to have a line put in her heart.

LUKE BROWN (14)

At five-years-old, Luke lost the use of his legs and has only limited use of his arms and hands. Despite this he regularly plays wheelchair basketball and football.

TAYLA RADLEY (12)

At 18 months old, Tayla was struck down with a viral infection that attacked her spinal cord leaving her paralysed from the neck down. She has mastered the use of a computer and operates her wheelchair using her head.

JOE KELLY (4)

Joe was diagnosed with CHARGE syndrome at three days old. This year he has had several emergency operations, but has started main stream school.

HOLLY RUDDLESDEN (7)

Born with cerebral palsy Holly has always been ill with chest infections and pneumonia resulting in lots of hospital visits. She can now be fed orally and enjoys her food.

CAROLE MARSHALL

Carole and her husband have been childminding for over 30 years. Ofsted recently gave her an outstanding accolade.

JAYNE WESTCOTT

This ‘complete joy of a lady’ and her disabled husband are foster carers for troubled teens. They also have two children and a grandson who is often in hospital.

GREAT LINFORD

This really great school has helped a child with disabilities by raising money to fund a wheelchair.

MEADFURLONG

This school deals with 32 different languages being spoken and 30 per cent of pupils coming and going throughout the year. It also looks after special needs children.

ST MARY MAGDALENE

Following the tragic death of a five year old, this school created a beautiful remembrance garden for people to reflect and remember him in.

SLATED ROW SCHOOL

This school for special needs pupils is described as having strong leadership and vision. The staff are totally dedicated, organising residential holidays.

SIMPSON SCHOOL

Staff and children have turned this school around, changing the attitudes of children. They have won awards this year for enterprise.

5. Making a difference on our streets sponsored by MKPartnership

ROB HARRIMAN AND TONY JEFFS

Following many acts of anti-social behaviour in Greenleys, Communityput residents lives back to normal. P3 This charity helps people with social exclusion problems via weekly meetings.

STREET MINISTERS

The ministers are out in force on Friday and Saturday nights often until 5am looking after youngsters.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE

These volunteers organise events for people aged 13 to 25, who give up their time to encourage involvement in communities.

STREET GAMES

This exciting project aims to keep children off the streets and develop their skills by having a go at street dancing, graffiti, basketball and dodgeball.

ISABLLE FERRADA

Izzy, 13 and a BMX Racing Champion, has won national competitions and came second in the British Championships. Her goal is to race for Team GB in the Rio Olympics.

HASSAN JAMA

Hassan, 22, runs coaching sessions to help youngsters from underprivileged areas to play football, basketball and cricket.

SALLY NUNEPEKU

A real achiever and a great role model, Sally demonstrates leadership in various community events. She is also a member of the city’s youth cabinet.

MILTON KEYNES ISLAMIC ARTS HERITAGE AND CULTURE ORGANISATION (MKIAHC)

This non-profit charity strives to promote equality and diversity in all sectors of the community through high quality Islamic art, heritage and culture.

CLIMB YOUR MOUNTAIN (CYM)

CYM is a charity that encourages people to change their lives by improving their physical and mental well-being.

MUSIK 4U

This music festival run by 50 young volunteers is the city’s ultimate free summer festival at Station Square.

SPECIAL NEEDS UNIT GYMNASTICS (SNUGS)

SNUGS is a unique independent gymnastics club for children with special needs.

MK SPECIAL DONS

Special Dons is a football club for children from the age of five to 19 with special needs. They are trained by volunteer FA qualified coaches once a week.

George Booty and his volunteers are out in force on a Friday and Saturday night often until 5am looking after young people and those in distress.

TRANSITIONS YOUTH CLUB

Are volunteers aged between 16 and 25 and give their time to children with severe learning difficulties and profound and multiple needs.

GARY WAKEFIELD

Gary’s competitive spirit rubs off on the kids and this year saw Milton Keynes Tennis Club winning all the leagues across all age groups

LIAM SNUSHER

Liam organises activities like DJ workshops, skate workshops and urban art shows. He is featured in an ad campaign for volunteering charity ‘’V’.

HEADS HIGH ANTI-BULLYING

This group has role models all over the UK tackling bullying in school communities. It believes bullying is the first step to knife and gun crime.

ROB HARRIMAN AND TONY JEFFS

Following many acts of anti social behaviour in Greenleys, Community Wardens Rob and Tony have stepped in to put the residents lives back to normal.

DOREEN ADCOCK

Doreen, 72, is a dedicated swim instructor who has been teaching people to swim for three generations. She is still able to complete her Lifeguard timed swims.

SALLY GADDES

Brownie Guide Sally is reluctantly due to retire next year. She is young at heart and continues to run First Furzton Brownies every week.

JIM MCKELLAR

Jim, 73, has recently completed his 100th marathon and a triathlon. He has run the Comrades Marathon in South Africa to raise money for a number of charities.

BARBARA REEVES

Barbara works for P3 which helps people with social exclusion problems. She is 55 years old but has so much drive it inspires others.

MIKE KEATING

Mike is 85 years old, fought for his country in the Navy and is described as ‘very special’. He regularly looks after his family friends and neighbours.

JOHN LOGAN

John, 74, not only looks after his disabled wife, he is kind, friendly and a model neighbour, looking after everyone in his Close.

THE BREMEN GROVERS

These three householders have given tremendous support physically and emotionally to neighbours, especially to a family with a disabled child who died this year.
