Stationery

The wedding invitations and table place names can be bought or printed as couples wish.

When sending out the invitations, you may need to enclose a map, directions for reaching the church, register office, approved premises and/or the reception venue. Guests will also require information on parking. Keep a careful guest list and enter acceptances/refusals straightaway.

Deciding who to invite and who to leave out is always rather a headache. The groom's parents may feel sad if they are allowed to invite only a few of their family and friends, while there are huge numbers of guests from the bride's family.

Each couple has to try and resolve this amicably with their parents. Try not to leave out anyone who will be very disappointed at not receiving an invitation. Whatever party or event people attend subsequently, nothing quite makes up for missing the wedding.

Another novel idea is a 'Guest Signing Plate/Bowl' as a different kind of 'Guest Book' - which frankly gets put away in a cupboard after the event and rarely sees the light of day. I loved this idea of a useful item that is on display all the time - be it a fruit bowl, huge server plate or a charger. It is so easy to do and so much fun, you can make it personal and use whatever colours you have at your wedding or your colour scheme in your home.

The Kiln in Bedford, has a wonderful, creative atmosphere and they are so helpful - from the best techniques to use, to what paint is good for which area of your artwork. So if you are stuck for a really great idea for the Guest's to sign at your wedding - this is it.
